Die Konzertreihe CO|:N:|ECT 2023 des ensemble via nova wird in der Kunsthalle Erfurt fortgesetzt. Auf dem Programm stehen Werke von Liisa Hirsch, Rebecca Saunders, Mykhailo Chedryk (Uraufführung), Matthew Shlomowitz, Jongsung Oh, Farzia Fallah und ein gemeinsames Werk von Macarena Rosmanich (Uraufführung).

Der ukrainische Komponist Mykhailo Chedryk ist im Rahmen des Fellowships “Weltoffenes Berlin” des Berliner Senats als Komponist ein Jahr beim ensemble mosaik tätig. Er ist im Dezember aus der Ukraine nach Berlin gekommen, bleibt für ein Jahr hier und schrieb ein Werk für das Ensemble:

“Sonare for ensemble №2”

The composition employs an intentionally unstable rhythmic pattern, creating a sense of slow but constant motion. The dramaturgy of the piece is designed in a way that only during the climactic moment all the voices of the score finally converge, uniting into a single rhythmic pattern. Also, this year celebrates the birthday of the esteemed composer György Ligeti, and “Sonare for Ensemble №2” pays a small tribute to his groundbreaking work. Inspired by Ligeti’s brilliance, this composition incorporates some elements that were used by the composer. The title “Sonare” holds a significant meaning. It emphasizes the focus on the sound image and asks to avoid non-musical thoughts or associations.
